It's a two for one sale! Two obsessed perfectionists that is! See the strong family resemblance? They both wear glasses. It's Dad's shop, and a recent move has finally made it possible for them to work together. Dad still has a lot of tricks to teach...if he can just teach Tom how to grow hair...
That's Barry, the furry guy on the right. Barry developed his skills and tool collection as a hobbyist woodworker for many years before he did any "professional" work. All the time and money spent have made themselves evident, and when he started selling some work it quickly came into high demand. With a strong background in cabinetry and larger pieces, his finishing techniques and experience with wood made it easy for him to tackle the scroll saw with fantastic results. |
Tom first bought a scroll saw sometime around 1995. It was a natural for his small "shop" located in a 90 square foot shed, and he quickly sought out more difficult patterns than what he saw in the beginner books. Having always tried to find ways to make his numerous hobbies pay for themselves, it didn't take him long to start selling a few things. He's the "show man" of the pair, the guy you are likely to see at the craft shows. |
